Originating from the aristocratic land of the nawabs, Lucknow, Chatapati work requires exceptional skill as it plays with colours and textures.
Riwaaya’s take on Chatapati Lehenga Choli breaks the traditional mould and splashes an elegant creamy base with appliques in subtle yellow and lime green on the top half of the lehnga followed by intricate hand work in turquoise and pale yellow sequins etched along with gold zardozi and pale green silk flowers. The tale comes to an end with a riot of brighter hues that create a fine balance of lights and shadows.
